Oct 17, 2025 - FASSelangor Football Club (Selangor FC) has officially launched its second jersey, the Away Kit 2025/26, digitally across all official Selangor FC social media platforms.
Themed “From the Pitch to the Planet”, this jersey is not merely an on-field garment but a symbol of change and awareness, showing that football can be a powerful medium to create a positive impact on our planet.
To strengthen this campaign, four United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been adopted as the main symbols of the Red Giants’ Away Jersey this season; SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 13 – Climate Action, and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.
The symbol featured on the back of the jersey highlights SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, one of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, emphasising the importance of using resources wisely and responsibly. This initiative forms part of Selangor FC’s ongoing efforts under the Selangor Plan-1 (RS-1) to strengthen the principles of the circular economy and climate resilience.
The main colours of this jersey are Dark Green and Light Green, two tones that symbolise the team’s growth and reflect its spirit and commitment to protecting what gives us all life. The Dark Green represents strength, stability, and resilience, as well as the club’s grounded mission to protect what sustains us. Meanwhile, the Light Green symbolises hope in every stride — representing growth, renewal, and a future shaped by conscious choices both on and off the pitch. The colour palette reflects Selangor FC’s determination to continue moving forward while maintaining its commitment to a sustainable planet.
According to Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon, Chief Executive Officer of Selangor FC, this jersey carries a deeper meaning, not merely as a new design, but as a symbol of the belief that each individual can play a role in caring for the environment. By wearing this jersey, supporters not only show their pride for the team but also for the planet we share together.
Selangor FC also encourages all supporters to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle, such as separating recyclable waste, bringing their own containers for takeaway food and drinks, and sending used fabrics to Kloth Cares bins provided throughout the state. Donations of clothing, fashion accessories, slippers, shoes, bags, household textiles, children’s toys, excess fabric, or scraps can also be made at the nearest Kloth Cares recycling bin.
This initiative helps to reduce waste that ends up in landfills, thereby contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions and energy and water consumption in the production process. The move aligns with the nation’s aspiration to achieve a 40 per cent recycling rate by 2025 and the long-term goal of ‘Zero Landfill 2050’.
In conjunction with the campaign, Selangor FC will provide clothing recycling bins at the MBPJ Stadium, starting with the Selangor FC vs Kuala Lumpur City (SFCKLC) match on 26 October, as part of the club’s collective effort to raise community awareness of recycling practices and encourage the optimal use of resources within the Selangor FC community. Supporters are also invited to drop off at least five items of recyclable goods to receive a special voucher or free match ticket!
Through the “From the Pitch to the Planet” campaign, Selangor FC aims to mobilise the football community and the people of Selangor towards a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
This is not just the Selangor FC 2025/26 Away Jersey, it is a symbol of love for the team, the state, and the environment that is home to us all.
Demi Kebanggaan!
